Collection consists of the records of the Superintendent of College Buildings, dating from 1903-1923. During this timeframe, the position title changed from Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, Superintendent of the College Plant, and Superintendent of College Buildings. Files are arranged in alphabetical order by folder title. Records include two journals kept by Henry Herbert Austin, who was the Superintendent of the College Plant from 1910-1924, records of various buildings (including clubhouses, the boathouse, Lake Waban Laundry and the Land Army Training Camp) and their treatment or modifications, including plans, equipment, correspondence with contractors, Wellesley offices, and departments, records of events held and resources used (electricity, coal), records of employees, financial records, statements, and insurance records, records of fire protection, meteorological reports. Includes records relating to the town of Wellesley and the state of Massachusetts.
