Photos are of the churches Santa Maria Assunta, (known as I Gesuiti) and Santa Maria dei Carmini in Venice. Garvey was part of the Boston Chapter of Save Venice, Inc, and one of its founding members.

Sub-Series A includes the photographs and drawings of art and architecture in Italy used in McAndrew's work with Save Venice and in his writings, particularly for his book Venetian Architecture in the Early Renaissance. Includes 5 maps for use in the book. Also includes an original painting by the Italian artist Tony Lucarda.

Notes regarding conversations were likely between Bacon and the donor of this accession, Peter Fergusson, Professor Emeritus Art Department.
