Art Department records
Scope and Contents
This collection contains the records of the Art department which includes correspondence, reports, course materials, administrative records, and scrapbooks dating from 1896 to 1999. The collection includes materials about the previous iterations of the Wellesley College Museum, which is known today as the Davis Museum. Also found in the collection are blueprints and plans for the building of the Jewett Arts Center in addition to records about deferred maintenance and renovations to Jewett and Pendelton West.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Materials were donated to the Archives by the Art department at various points in time. Other materials were donated by former director of the museum, Judy Fox.

Revision Statements
- May 2023: Original guide, published on academics.wellesley.edu webpage, was created in 1981. Collection was lightly reprocessed in spring 2023: series were created, and name files and scrapbooks were described. Updated finding aid was imported into ASpace in May 2023.
