Scope and Contents
This collection documents Louise Miner's college years at Wellesley from 1912-1916. Series I contains course materials, account books, class schedules, and photographs. Series II contains Louise's correspondence with her family, including her mother, siblings, and extended family in Lakeville, Connecticut.

Biographical Note
Louise Meech Miner was born on March 15, 1893 in Salem, Connecticut to Samuel and Fanny Miner. Her father died in an accident in 1911 when her mother was pregnant with her brother, Norton. Louise grew up in Lakeville, Connecticut and graduated from Wellesley College in 1916. In 1918 she attended the Vassar Training Camp for Nurses in Poughkeepsie, New York and earned her RN from Hartford Hospital Training School in 1920. Louise married Claude Gillette Beardslee, a clergyman, university professor, and widower with a young daughter, in 1920. Louise and Claude had five children: Caroline (from Claude's first marriage), Ruth, Betsy Remembrance, Claudia Gillette, and Alvord Miner. Louise Miner Beardslee died of liver cancer in Lakeville, Connecticut on January 12, 1952.
