Biographical / Historical

From Mezcla's Facebook page: "Mezcla is Wellesley's Latinx cultural org. We focus on the academic, social, political, and general well-being of Wellesley students of Latinx descent. Anyone is welcome to join and/or participate in our events regardless of heritage." Mezcla was founded in 1972. In Spring 1975, the building Gray House (sometimes spelled Greyhouse) was converted into a shared clubhouse for Mezcla, Newman Club, and Jewish students’ organizations. The building had formerly been used to house men who visited the campus and included cooking facilities previously unavailable to the organizations.
