Records of the Office of the Director of Residence (whose title from 1904 to 1917 was Director of Halls of Residence, and from 1919 to 1952 was Dean of Residence); dating from 1940 to 1979 (with some earlier material, including statistics dating 1876 to 1974); consisting of budgets, contracts, correspondence, financial records, handbooks, lists, minutes, newspaper clippings, notices, programs, reports, statistics, and tickets; concerning the duties of the Director of Residence, the operation of the Residence Office, Baccalaureate, Commencement, Float Night, Food Services, the Guest-in-Residence Program, Health, Education and Welfare Department requirements, Honors Day, House Associates, House Presidents and Vice Presidents, housing for employees, faculty and graduate students, maintenance and renovation of dormitories, May Day, [a "Minority Concerns" meeting], parietals, regulations, Reunion, the Recreation Building Committee, Residence Contracts, residence lists, Resident Advisors, the Residential Policy Committee, security, Societies, student rooming, Tree Day, Upward Bound, vacation housing, Vil Juniors, and the Village Committee.
