Scope and Contents

Grace Louise Rose was from Martinsville, Indiana. While at Wellesley she majored in Greek and graduate Phi Beta Kappa. She continued her studies at Western College from 1926-1927, was a Horton-Hallowell Fellow (Wellesley College) conducting graduate research from 1934-1935, a Pembroke Alumnae Fellow from 1935-1936 (studying at Oxford University), and a Basil Gildersleeve Fellow from 1936-1937. She earned her PhD in Greek from Johns Hopkins University in 1939. She studied at Harvard University and Radcliffe College from 1941-1942, and earned her Master’s degree from Harvard University in English in 1943. She was the Mistress of Cabot Hall at Radcliffe College from 41-[date unknown].
