Scope and Contents
Records of the Class of 1918, dating from 1903 to 1998, consisting of event programs, memorabilia, course materials, biographical information on alumnae, clippings, a class bookplate, reunion records, financial records, the Class Constitution, correspondence, scrapbooks and photo albums, and a diary; concerning undergraduate and alumnae activities. Of note are the papers of Ruth Altman while living in Turkey and Myanmar, and Marguerite Atterbury’s maps and photo album of China.

Biographical / Historical
Ruth P. Altman (married name Greene) lived in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. While at Wellesley performed in the play "Alice Sit By The Fire," and was chosen for the light-hearted "Hall of Fame" page of the Legenda. She was also a student volunteer for the Christian Association, on the Wellesley-Holyoke debate team, a First Soprano in the Wellesley College Choir, and on the Executive Committee of the Agora Society (the political society). She graduated Phi Beta Kappa. She continued her studies at New York University from 1918-1919. She married Phillips F. Greene in 1920 and they had four daughters and two sons. They lived in Changsha, Hunan, during Phillips' work as part of the Yale-in-China Association and his term as Director of the American Red Cross in China (1923-1927, 1931-1943).
