From the Collection:

Records of the Class of 1905, dating from 1901 to 1981, consisting of course materials, correspondence, clippings, minutes, notebooks, photographs, photograph albums, programs, poetry and scrapbooks; concerning class meetings and the social and academic activities of members of the class as undergraduates, and information on reunions, careers and activities of members of the class as alumnae. Includes Grace Johnson's graduation gown and mortarboard, and Zella Wentz and Ruth Chipman's correspondence with family, as well as Ruth deRochemont's writings and translations on art history.

Biographical / Historical

Zella Wentz was from Aurora, Nebraska. She taught high school in Aurora from 1905-1907, and was a fellow (in Math and Philosophy) and a teacher at the University of Nebraska from 1907-1909, and an abstract officer from 1909-1911. She later moved to Medford, Oregon but continued spending her summers in Aurora, and in approximately 1920 she moved to Los Angles, California.
