Records of the Class of 1883, dating from 1879 to 1984, consisting of correspondence, programs, invitations, memorabilia, clippings, photo albums, notebooks; concerning student activities, reunions, and alumnae activities; including material on Henry Durant's death, Ada Howard resignation and Alice Freeman becoming President, an alphabet plate used at hoop rolling, Tree Day costume.

Biographical / Historical

Lucia Catherine Graeme Grieve was enrolled from 1878-1883. She was from New Brighton, Staten Island, New York. She went on to receive her MA in 1893, and her PhD in Greek Archaeology and Epigraphy from Columbia University in 1898. She was enrolled in gradute studies at Oxford University in England from 1896-1897, and lectured there in 1898.
