Biographical / Historical

Mary Barnett Gilson was part of the Wellesley Class of 1899. She worked in industrial relations for many years, received her Master's degree in economics from Columbia University in 1926. After receiving her Master's degree she taught nomics at the University of Chicago until 1942. She also studied at the London School of Economics in 1935-1936. She was a Guggenheim Fellow from 1939-1940. She taught at Wellesley College as an Economics Lecturer on faculty exchange from the University of Chicago in the 1941-1942 school year (second semester).
