The following materials are included in this series: vitae, autobiographical manuscripts outlining her career development, published autobiographical data and miscellaneous biographical information, clippings and press releases, travel diaries and an address book, original incoming correspondence and copies of outgoing correspondence, grant applications, notes, and a scrapbook. Some of these items reflect Professor Evan's' interests in such subjects as Harry S. Truman, the American Foreign Service, Oriental art, and her travels in Latin America and Europe for research and professional conferences.

Among Evans' correspondents were Political Science Professors Robert R. Wilson (Duke University) and Louise Overacker (Wellesley College), Philip M. Phibbs (President of the University of Puget Sound), and several of her former Wellesley students. Her correspondence includes such topics as Evans' award and promotions, leaves of absence, research grants and sabbaticals, professional openings at other institutions, and evaluations of monographs and manuscripts sent to her.
